Understanding TMJ and options for treatment

Temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ/TMD) can cause jaw pain, headaches, facial tension, clicking or popping sounds, and difficulty chewing. At Redondo Smile Dental, treatment options are tailored to each patient’s symptoms and may include custom night guards to reduce teeth grinding and relieve pressure on the jaw joint, medications to help manage pain and inflammation, and Botox® therapy to relax overactive jaw muscles and decrease clenching-related discomfort. A comprehensive evaluation will help determine the most effective treatment plan for lasting relief and improved jaw function.
